aka Detective Jericho West
Jerry Winsett has been acting professionally for over a quarter of a century, having performed in literally hundreds of productions on television, stage and the silver screen.
Jerry has appeared on TV in numerous Guest-Starring roles on such shows as “Newhart,” “Coach,” “Garry Shandling Show” and others. He starred in the recurring role of Mayor Lloyd Lloyd in the Nickelodeon series, “The Snooker Report.” He has done MANY, MANY commercials, and costarred in the very first “Time To Make The Donuts” commercial for Dunkin Donuts and the Federal Express “Big Package” ad campaign.
He has countless stage credits and won awards locally in Wilmington for his performance as 'Nicely Nicely' in "Guys and Dolls" and 'Pap Finn' in “Big River”. He has played everyone from Charlie Brown to Ben Franklin. He is a singer, writer, director and an admitted ham. In a review of our Murder Mystery show, The Wilmington Star News called Jerry "extraordinary." (See our reviews section for more reviews of MMP performances.) He makes yearly guest artist appearances at the Tennessee Shakespeare Festival and even has a recipe (Chicken and Dumplin’s) in the “Celebrities of Tennessee Cookbook”.
Jerry is a member of Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and has been featured in dozens of films including the cult favorite “One Crazy Summer” and locally filmed “Bastard Out Of Carolina.” He recently finished a role as a member of the “Secret Seven” in the independent production “The Red Cape” based on the Wilmington, NC race riots of 1898. You can catch him on cable TV most any month as the surly farmer caught between two motorcycle gangs in Warner Brothers feature “Torque” from the same production team that brought you “Fast and Furious” and “XXX” and starring Ice Cube. Look for Jerry in the upcoming films "Bolden" based on jazz legend Charles "Buddy" Bolden; and "The Red Cape", a film looking at the 1898 race riots in Wilmington, NC.
Jerry has been a repeat guest at Dragon*Con for his voice-over work in Anime. And he is also an accomplished Singer and Songwriter and is listed in “Who’s Who in American Entertainment”.
On TV he recently appeared in the CBS series "The Inspectors" and on the Big Screen he won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role opposite Frances McDormand in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri". Look for him soon in the feature films "Finding Steve McQueen", "Drought" and the short "Long Drive To Yadkin"!
